By downloading, installing, or using the Split Smarter mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Split Smarter is a mobile application that helps users:
- Track shared expenses within groups
- Calculate who owes whom
- Facilitate settling debts between group members
- Manage recurring shared expenses
The App is a tracking and calculation tool. We do not process payments or transfer money between users.
3. Account Registration
3.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use this App.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities that occur under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Create fake expenses or manipulate balances fraudulently
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
5. Payments and Settlements
Important: Split Smarter does NOT process payments. We only provide links to third-party payment services (PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle).
- You use third-party payment services at your own risk
- We are not responsible for payment disputes
- Marking a debt as "settled" in the App is for record-keeping only
6. Advertisements
The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. By using the App, you agree to view advertisements as part of the free service.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations will be 100% accurate. Always verify important amounts.
8. Limitation of Liability
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- We are not liable for financial disputes between users
- We are not responsible for actions of third-party payment services
9. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
10. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
